The Death of Tsuru

Canto XIII (Lines 1079-1086). Sadly, the ballad is not all joyous celebrations and monumental achievements. There is tragedy as well. None more so than the unexpected death of Kulakoonstru’s human companion, Tsuru. This also happened in the Elven Dungeon. Poor Tsuru charged in to a small room:

They went to the Elven dungeon.
In to a small room Tsuru rushed,
Unknown animals were summoned.
By ten elephants, he was crushed!
Here in this place, his luck ran out.
Kulakoonstru wept, lamented:
"He was a good friend; true and stout!
"And here doth his story ended!"

And the feckless God Of Luck could not or would not save his own priest! He was mourned.
